I’m so happy to share these images of Nicole and Brandon’s beautiful May wedding! Both their ceremony and reception were at The Cheney Place in Grand Rapids, which is truly a stunning venue and a photographer’s dream! Their wedding was a perfect way to kick off wedding season 2016 for Kristy Berends Photography. Their wedding was fun, relaxed, and down to earth with many gorgeous DIY touches. Both Brandon and Nicole are artists so planning a beautiful wedding came naturally to them! I’ve been blessed to know Nicole and her extended family for the last 12 years and what struck me so much on their wedding day was the intergenerational focus. While our culture says “the wedding is about and for the couple” (and it certainly is in a way), it is about so much more. Brandon and Nicole, as they begin their marriage, are another branch shooting out from their family trees, being blessed by grandparents and parents and taking and melding traditions with them from previous generations. It was wonderful to photograph their wedding and spend a great day with their families and friends! Congratulations and blessings to you both!!
