I haven’t posted a blog about my sweet new little guy yet so this is long overdue! Evan Michael Berends was born on October 15th last year and has been such a joy to our family. I can’t imagine life without him:) He is a “mild child” which works well as I already have a “wild child” (my three year old son, Luke). We’ll see if he stays that way as he grows! He is observant and sweet and easy to coax a smile out of. He loves watching big brother Luke as he plays and sometimes just laughs at his silliness:) Being a mom of two boys has changed my life drastically in a wonderful way – the days are busier than ever and the nights, well, they’re still rough – someday I won’t be tired! I’ve got lots of blog catching up to do, but for now, I’m enjoying a quiet winter spending lots of time with my boys.
Thanks to my friend, Allie, owner of Proud to Introduce Photography for taking some wonderful photos of Evan and I! Evan was born with an airway disorder called Laryngomalacia…most babies born with this disorder have a mild case and grow out of it within a couple of years, but Evan was born with a serious case causing a lot of breathing problems as well as trouble gaining weight. He had surgery (supraglottoplasty) at 7 weeks which had wonderful results – he is doing great and gaining lots of weight- – praise God for healing!
Evan has had lots of time with grandparents and other family – he’s blessed with wonderful grandparents! Some recent photos of my sweeties…
