If you're anything like me, you love photography because it connects the past with the present and helps us treasure every stage in life with our family and friends. As a child, I remember evenings of slide show presentations in my grandparent's home, viewing the photos of their vacations and my mom's childhood. This was pure magic to me then, and still is today. Now, as a mother myself, there is nothing sweeter than flipping through the pages of my family photo albums and treasuring those times when my boys (now ages 6 and 9) were babies to snuggle, toddlers to chase after, and seeing them grow through those pages. I became a photographer to give others beautiful images both to grace their walls but also to capture those "in between" moments of life that are so ordinary, yet so precious.
Some of the ordinary and precious moments in my life are hiking and exploring the great outdoors with my family. We love to travel the country visiting family, get cozy together on the couch in front of a good movie, and to read and play games.
I love to be that calm, yet directing presence capturing the beauty of your wedding day, a hug between father and son, your kids jumping on the bed, or a traditional family photo session, marking another year of growth in your life. I consider myself a hybrid photographer, seeing the value in traditional portraits to mark important events and years of life, but also treasure the lifestyle photos of daily family life.
